For decades, corruption has been rampant— having trillions of pesos being stolen from the Filipino people, where taxes are collected, to supposedly support projects that will benefit the public. Instead, with the system that we have, it supplements a politician’s lifestyle. This must stop— it must end now, the country has been fooled long enough, as the saying from our national hero goes “𝙆𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜-𝙖𝙨𝙖 𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣”, I am Jasmine, from 11-SSCI02, from the 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, who stands firm in supporting the mission of the 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙨𝙤 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 and 𝘽𝙖𝙝𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙇𝙪𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙖: 𝘼𝙠𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙆𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣 in condemning the Php 1 Trillion worth of stolen country funds, that was kept under one’s hat instead of being allocated to climate and rehabilitation projects. Those involved must be punished— 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮𝙢𝙚𝙣, 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮’𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬.Thus, the biblical verse “𝘏𝘶𝘸𝘢𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘸” (Exodus 20:15) reminds us that 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙡, as the people’s taxes are solely for the benefit of the betterment and growth of the country—not to supplement the pockets of public officials. Therefore, we urge everyone, especially our Vincentian Community to fight against corruption, 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦.#AdUSHSSSGCondemnsCorruption#WeDemandAccountabilityandTransparency#HindiKamiPasisiil#KabanNgBayanAtingIpaglabanCaption by : Director for Publications BagagunioGraphics by : M.O.
